Jennifer Nixon

Of Counsel

JenniferJennifer decided at a young age to pursue a career in the law, telling friends and family members since she was a teenager that she wanted to be a divorce attorney. After earning her degree in Criminology and Political Science from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, she graduated from William Mitchell College of Law, where she worked as a research assistant for the Dean of the college.

Jennifer brings energy and compassion to her work, assisting clients with their personal matters, including family law. Jennifer is a trained member of the Collaborative Law Institute, helping clients divorce with dignity and respect. Where the collaborative process is not the right fit for clients, she provides advocacy through a court-based process. Jennifer listens to her clients to provide an individualized approach that best fits her clients’ goals and addresses their concerns.

While helping people with their immediate legal needs is satisfying, so is helping individuals plan for the future, which Jennifer does by assisting with the planning and preparation of estate documents, including wills, trusts, healthcare directives (living wills) and powers of attorney. She provides a simple process, working diligently to give clients peace of mind that their children will be cared for and their family will be taken care of if something happens to them.

Outside the office, Jennifer can be found baking cupcakes and desserts to share with friends and family, or trying her skills on a boxing bag in an attempt to balance out those desserts. Jennifer lives in Plymouth with her husband and their rescue cat.
